Survey of manufacturing systems in SMEs: A focus on cell management

چکیده
In recent years, industrial requirements for products have moved toward small batches and diversification. However, the traditional dedicated manufacturing line, which was initially developed mass production, is no longer suitable these requirements. Consequently, companies need to improve their performance adapt maintain competitiveness, especially small- medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), owing limited resources, such as finance, equipment, technology. This paper reviews different systems that SMEs may adopt, including flexible (FMS), lean (LM), reconfigurable (RMS). Subsequently, challenges in implementing are listed. Considering aforementioned challenges, authors propose basic principles cell design management help adopt new at application level.
